Long-form content is a term used to describe a blog posts or articles that are between 1,000 and 7,500 words, like white papers, or technical articles. The purpose of long-form content is to provide valuable information to the reader, and increase time spent on site.

When Google discovers that your content meets the user’s needs, it will rank your domain higher on the search engine results page (SERP). But there are few scenarios in which poorly written content ranks well. 

You can’t polish a turd, and Google doesn’t rank bad content. So there’s no reason to spend money on content, if you don’t invest in a professional content writer to write it. If you want your content to perform well, it needs to be written well. End of story.
